Happy Vesak everyone!

We’ve got a pretty overcast day for Vesak day today. Was raining pretty heavily this morning but it seems to have eased off somewhat. Guess it makes it nicer to be walking around outdoors, the temperature is much lower and there’s a lot less glare.

Vesak Day is the day that marks Buddha’s enlightenment and attainment of nirvana, and is always celebrated on the first day of the forth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s a public holiday here in Singapore.

I’ll be spending my day at home with my mum while she recovers from her latest chemo ordeal. It’s quiet, the overcast sky is causing less sunlight to come in through the windows giving everything in the apartment a weird bluish tint, and we’re both listening to Bebel Gilberto. Very spiritual if you ask me ^^.
